CBC is a great place to enjoy boating – without the
expense of owning a boat – and to meet new people who love to boat as well. CBC
is pleased to open our facility to kayakers and qualified sailors. We are in our
16th year of operation. It is our hope that sailors will become part of our
community and help us realize our dream of providing water access to all.
Below you will find our
seasonal Open Boating hours and the requirements for
checking out boats during Open Boating.

to read about our boats.
CBC instructors will observe sailors:
1. Rigging the boat
2. Leaving the dock
3. Upwind sailing (with tacks)
4. Downwind sailing (with gybes)
5. Capsize of small sailing dinghies (dry roll NOT OK)
6. Returning to the dock
Proficiency checks must be performed for each type of boat
and for wind conditions. If the prospective sailor does not
pass both phases of the evaluation on the first attempt, a
$5.00 fee will be charged for each successive proficiency
check.
Check-outs are sometimes limited due to instructor
availability. We do not generally have the ability to do
check outs on Mondays, but you can always come down or call
us at 508-992-6219 during the Open Boating hours listed
above to request a check-out and we will try to fit you in.
In order to participate in Open Boating, the sailor must
have already completed the check-out.
