Boat Types and Fees:
Beetle Whale Boat ($100)
Azorean Whale Boat ($120)
Pilot Gig ($120)
Classes:
Open Class (average age of rowing
crew is up to 59)
Master Class (average age of rowing
crew is 60 +)

Rowers must be in possession of a state/federal issued
picture ID showing Year
of Birth, if
any rower cannot produce a valid id, the team will race in
the open class.

Age of rower will be determined as follows: Age = 2012-Year
of Birth
·
Average age of crew will be rounded down to the whole number
(59.8 is 59).
·
Coxswain’s age and gender are not used in determining class
or category.

Registration & Check
In:
Registration & check in begins at 8:00 am at
CBC.
Parking:
Vehicles must be parked in the lot while unloading
boats and equipment. Vehicles must use the parking
lot during the event to avoid unnecessary street
congestion.
Rest Rooms:
Rest rooms are available inside of CBC
Launching:
LOGISTICS CAN DELAY YOU! Please allow time
to park, check in, and attend the skipper's meeting
and launch. Boats can be rowed to the
starting line from the City of New Bedford Boat Launch area
adjacent across the Cove, or launched on site. (See Logistics Map at right)
Race Staging:
Please remain near CBC until
your class is called to the start (See Logistics Map
at right).

Times:
09:30 - Mixed Crews
10:30 - Women's Crews
11:30 - Men's Crews
Equipment Requirements:
-
Each participant must carry or wear a USCG-approved
PFD (life jacket).

Each participant must also carry an
attention-getting noisemaker, such as a whistle
on a lanyard.

Participants may also find useful bailers,
compasses, and charts of the area.
The Community
Boating Center reserves the right
to refuse to register any individual or boat. CBC
may also expel or refuse any participant or boat
before or during the event for lack of required
equipment, unsafe operation, disregard for event
rules, or unsporting behavior. |
