On Monday, January 29, the fifth graders at Our Sisters’ School started their winter project with CBC–building scale model Bevin’s skiffs!  The students, who are working in pairs, will use their math skills, hone their sailing vocabulary and work with tools, some of them for the first time.  The first part of Monday’s class involved a lot of measuring, as the students marked up the boards on which they’ll build their boats.  At the end of the class, Richard Feeny, CBC Education Director, demonstrated the next step that involved using a drill and screwdriver. They were all anxious to go first and give it a try!
