Sustainability at Sea Lab

By Greg Pimentel

Through our collaboration with Sea Lab, Community Boating Center is able to work with every fourth grade New Bedford Public School student over the course of the school year. The program consists of a three hour, interactive lesson covering the issue of marine debris. In addition to learning what marine debris is, students gain an understanding of the impacts marine debris can have on our environment, how marine debris degrades, and how to solve a real world problem by cleaning a simulated oil spill while working in small groups.
