Earth Day
Earth Day is April 22. The first Earth Day took place in 1970, when 20 million Americans participated across the country. Although we can’t celebrate this year’s 50th anniversary together, there are lots of things that we can still do to learn about the earth, our natural resources and what we can do to preserve them.
Cooper’s Ocean Beat
My four year old son, Cooper, and I tried the Ocean Beats activity on the Whaling Museum’s website. This activity allows people to hear hundreds of different sounds from 32 different species including whales, dolphins, seals, and even a walrus!
Whaling National Historical Park
id you know that we have a National Park right here in New Bedford? Since 1996, 13 city blocks in downtown have been designated as a historic area to teach people from all over the world about whaling and New Bedford’s role in it.
